Final Analysis
Making the Britney Video
Was not well planned, done fairly well. Need better lip synching.
Joe: There were not enough shots taken.
Plan it much better, knowing exactly what shots to do, take more shots. Practice lip synching.
I learnt that you need to know exactly what is needed, how many shots, and need to practice before making the final product.
Textual Analysis of Music Videos
Was well written, with paragraphs well set out, however needed to include more about genre
apostrophe, label. Good use of theory. State when using intertextuality.
Include more about genre linking back features of the music video with genre. Present the essay better.
I learnt to look back through the work and proof read to check grammar etc. Also to link features back to genre of the music videos. Use intertextuality
What Music Means to me
I think this was done well as each song chosen meant a lot to me, therefore this task was done well.

There was not much improvement for what music means to me as it was based on music having an impact in my life.
I learnt that although the songs I chose meant a lot to me I found it hard to pick as music has been present a lot throughout my life.
Changing Image of Star
I went into a lot of detail about her actual image and changing hairstyles as well as what critics though of her over the years.

This was a well structured piece of work with each slide consisting of different aspects of her image changing however not a lot on critics.
I learnt that a star can change dramatically over time and change the genre of music that they are.
Presentation on a music video
This was done well as it gave an insight in how to analyse a music video for the first time and what makes a good music video.
More information could be included about what makes a bad music video.
This task helped me to think about potential ideas for a music video, and what would be good and what’s not.
CD cover analysis
This was done well and set out well in a presentation with more detail on one CD cover going into detail about the cover.
Plan it better, as I didn’t realise how much time it would actually take to research all the information.
This helped to show how the artist uses a cover to sell themselves. This also helped for when we make our own CD cover.
Potential Tracks
We found this task quite easy as in our group we like the same genre of music therefore it was easy to decide on ‘you me at six-poker face’.
Explain more why we would of liked to do the potential songs, and any ideas we may have had.
This was a good task as it made us think about potential ideas and decided what we would like to do overall.
Lip Synching Task
I wasn’t here for when Joe and Josh filmed the lip synching however I did the editing, I found this helpful to learn how to edit and it came out really well!
Take more than one shot of the lip synching task, so we can choose which one was better, as Josh got into the singing more at the end.
This helped to show how hard it will be to synch the movements and the noise together.
Letter for Permission
This was a very important task to make sure we didn’t break the copyright laws. The letter was very formal and structured nicely.
Include more detail of why we would like to use their song for our work
This made us realise that there is a lot of work before you are able to start making a video.
How do you Consume Music?
By answering these questions I found out when music is listened to most, and how it affects people’s moods.
Include more detail about when people listen to music.
This helped to think about our style of music and what mood it could put the listener in.
Final Song Choice
This helped explain why we chose the song, and what ideas we had to be included within our music video.
Explain in more detail why we wanted to chose this song over the others.
Gave us the chance to listen to the song again and explain ideas we have and what we would like the final video to look like.
Ancillary Tasks
This task was helpful to make the audience more aware of the band, and publicise them.
There is not much improvement for this task as we made a website, facebook, and twitter account to publicise the band.
This task helped to make the band more lifelike and publicising them overall.
Analysis of Lyrics
This task was very effective at getting us to write down all the ideas we had and wanted to include at each section of the music video. This was a basic outline and helped us to start filming.
There is not much improvement for this task, as we analysed in detail exactly what we wanted to include in our video.
This task helped us to realise how much we would need to film and how long it would actually take to do.
